Nikolas Hoppe
Vita Nikolas Hoppe was born in Bremen in 1986. He received his B.A. in Creative Writing from the University of Hildesheim and is currently enrolled in the department's M.A. program. He was co-editor of the literary magazine BELLA triste and artistic director of the Prosanova festival 2011. His plays and prose writing have been awarded with prizes, grants, and participation in writer's workshops, including the 14th Klagenfurter Literaturkurs, Bremer Autorenstipendium (2009), Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus (2010), Niedersächsisches Arbeitsstipendium (2013), and the Autorenwerkstatt des Literarischen Kolloquiums Berlin (2014).

Deborah Asiimwe
Vita Deborah Asiimwe was born in Kiruhura, in South Western Uganda. She is an award winning playwright and performer, currently working as a specialist for the Sundance Institute East Africa and a co-curator of the Kampala International Theatre Festival. She received a B. A. in Theatre and Performing Arts from Makerere University and an M.F.A. in Writing for Performance from the California Institute of the Arts. Asiimwe’s recent plays include Forgotten World, Cooking Oil, Appointment with gOD and Un-entitled which have been produced and staged in the US and East Africa. In 2015 Asiimwe became a fellow at the Akademie Schloss Solitude in Stuttgart, Germany.

Nora Bossong
Vita Nora Bossong was born in Bremen in 1982. She studied Philosophy, Literature, and Cultural Studies at the Universities of Berlin, Rome and Leipzig. She lives and works as a writer in Berlin and Rome and is the recipient of numerous awards including the Kunstpreis Berlin for literature in 2011 and the Peter-Huchel-Preis 2012 for her poetry collection Sommer vor Mauern. She also writes for the online magazines 10vor8, faz.de, and Freitext on zeitonline. Her latest novel Gesellschaft mit beschränkter Haftung was published by Hanser in 2012 where her forthcoming novel is due in autumn 2015.

Jens Laloire
Vita Jens Laloire was born in Twistringen in 1978. He studied Philosophy, History, and Literature at the Universities of Bremen and Essen and now works as a freelance author and journalist. His publications include short stories such as 'Die Legende von der Neustadt' in Zmagazin and articles in the cultural sections of taz, as well as on the online dance platform tanznet.de. He has also co-led the interactive literature project netzdichte.de, organized and presented a series on contemporary writing at the public library in Bremen, and taught Creative Writing at the University of Bremen.

Nyana Kakoma
Vita Nyana Kakoma is a Ugandan writer, editor, and blogger from Kampala. She created the online platform Sooo Many Stories to promote and showcase Ugandan literature. Under the pseudonym Hellen Nyana she had her short story 'Waiting' published in The Suubi Collection (2013). Other publications include 'Chief Mourner' in the The Caine Prize Anthology (2013), 'Just Because You Did Not Win' in the first edition of the Jalada Collection Naked Woman in the Semi-nude and Other Stories (2014), and writings for the Storymoja blog.

Ssekandi Ronald Ssegujja
Vita Ssekandi Ronald Ssegujja was born in Masaka, South Western Uganda in 1990. He is a writer and executive director of Writing Our World, a youth run NGO working with and empowering young writers to contribute to positive change in their communities. He is also the African regional co-ordinator for Kahini – promoting cross cultural understanding through literature –, Peace Fellow of the DO School in Germany, and a member of the Ugandan Youth Advisors to Washington. In 2014, his short story 'Walls and Borders' won the Eastern Regional Writivism prize. He is currently working on a collection of short stories.
